This software tool helps convert Blu-ray DVD content into the most common video format, the AVI.
Odin Blu-ray DVD Ripper for AVI is a Blu-Ray DVD to AVI Converter program. It supports all the video converting variations such as AVI-H264, AVI-DivX, AVI-XviD, AVI-MPEG-4, AVI-MSMPEG-4, AVI-MPEG, AVI-WMV. If you just needed to extract the audio, that too can be done with this tool. The audio can be saved in any one of mp3/AAC/m4a/ac3/wav/wma audio formats. When the original has multiple language tracks and/or multiple sub-titles, you could choose only the ones you want. Conversions can be carried out in the batch mode. Settings available let you optimize the video for the device you want to view it on. You can trim the video clip to the size you want. The batch processing could be unattended and the program can be asked to shut down the machine when the work is done.
The interface is absolutely simple and any novice user should be able to get full benefit out of the program easily. Only a few settings are required. These include choosing a profile and the destination folder. Video size and quality as well as audio quality and the kind of channel configuration are other settings available. You can choose video and audio settings such as bit rate, resolution, frame rate, sample rate, and codec to correspond with your multimedia players. If you are not sure, go with the defaults. The tool does the conversion without affecting the quality of the source and audio, video sync is not a problem. This is a nice and handy tool.
